The Lake County General Health District (LCGHD) announced their first Bi-Annual Community Impact Report, which is available for download at www.lcghd.org/home/newsletter-3/. This easy-to-read report is a representation of the work that LCGHD did throughout 2024. Future reports will be released twice each year and will cover the previous six months of operations.
“The goal is to share insights with the public about what we’ve been up to, provide some useful data about our services, and celebrate our collaborative partnerships,” said Anna Wilson, Marketing Coordinator & Public Information Officer at LCGHD. In preparing the report, she recognized the need for more voices to represent the agency, which are accounted for on the Acknowledgements page. “It truly takes a village and will take some time to make this report fully representative of the good work being done at LCGHD. We want to do our best in making this a report that the community can use and be proud of.”
In this report, LCGHD highlights incredible contributions from community members and LCGHD employees, with data visualizations showing some of the results of their programs and services. There are just under 10 articles detailing in part how LCGHD is working to make Lake County healthy; here are a few special mentions:
- Lake County mothers donated over 6,000 ounces of breastmilk to the Lake-Geauga WIC Milk Bank, which will reach over 50 hospitals nationwide.
- Senior cycling classes are facilitated by LCGHD staff to improve the health and well-being of Lake County seniors.
- LCGHD conducts focus groups to hear from residents for the 2025 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA).
The next report is set to be published in July 2025. The public is welcome and encouraged to join LCGHD’s email list by visiting www.lcghd.org/newsletter/ to sign up to receive future reports and other information.
