The Lake County Safe Communities Coalition, in collaboration with the Heart of Willoughby Farmer’s Market and law enforcement partners, will hold its local Click It or Ticket Campaign Kickoff on Saturday, May 18th at 10:30 a.m. at the Willoughby’s Farmer’s Market, 2 East Spaulding Street, Willoughby, Ohio 44094.
Speakers include Willoughby’s Municipal Court’s Judge, Marisa Cornachio, Willoughby Police’s Community Engagement Officer Bruce Fedor, and Ohio State Highway Patrolmen Dominic Danesi and Andrew Day.
“During the Click It or Ticket campaign, we will be working with our local law enforcement officers across local and state lines to ensure the seat belt safety message gets out to drivers and passengers,” said Haley Russo of the Lake County Safe Communities Coalition. “We cannot overstate the importance of wearing a seat belt. It’s the law, but it’s more than that: By far, buckling up is the simplest thing you can do to limit injury or save your life during a crash. We see the results of not wearing a seat belt all the time. We see the loss of life. So often, it could have been prevented with the simple click of a seat belt.”
In addition to the presentation, Lake County Safe Communities Coalition will be hosting a booth at the Farmers Market, engaging shoppers with the Seatbelt Safety Prize. All news media, public officials and the general public are invited to attend.
