This year, the Lake County General Health District is excited to announce its inaugural Clean Inspection Award program. The Health District is happy to recognize 19 food service operations and retail food establishments that exemplify food safety. Facilities had to show thorough food safety knowledge and training, a clean inspection history (no critical violations), and evidence of operation according to rigorous state and local regulations in order to achieve a Clean Inspection Award. Facilities receiving the Clean Inspection Award this year met the requirements in 2018.
Applications were completed and submitted via the mail or online by qualifying facilities. The Clean Inspection Award Committee, made up of Lake County General Health District Food Staff Sanitarians, reviewed all applications submitted for completeness and the prior year inspection reports to ensure no critical violations were cited in 2018. The 19 winners received a certificate and window cling to post at their establishment notifying their customers of their accomplishment. Chris Loxterman, the Health District’s Environmental Health Supervisor stated: “The Health District is proud that these 19 set their sights high and are making every effort to have a clean establishment, focused on food safety”.
