Lake County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC)
The Lake County MRC is a volunteer group that brings medical and non-medical professionals together in support of local public health. Volunteers are trained and credentialed to provide rapid response when needed for an emergency or disaster. A key function of the MRC is to provide members with specialized training and preparation.
Who is eligible to join the MRC?
We are looking for qualified volunteers who can provide basic support services during emergencies, events, exercises, and drills. This includes, but is not limited to, licensed medical professionals, non-licensed volunteers with medical backgrounds, mental health professionals, public health professionals, and emergency medical personnel. Anyone can help!
What are the requirements to establish and maintain MRC membership?
- Volunteers must be 18 years or older and register for the Lake County Medical Reserve Corps by creating a profile on the Ohio Responds Volunteer Registry. All fields are required to complete the profile and be eligible. The profile must be kept up to date with current contact information, professional license information, etc.
- Volunteers must register for an account with MRC Train and complete an approved training prior to registration, and every three years after to maintain liability protection in the State of Ohio.
- Volunteers who complete these steps will receive a Lake County MRC Handbook and must complete the required paperwork and undergo a background check.
