In order to best serve the public during the week of Independence Day, Lake County General Health District is providing walk-in hours for individuals to receive a free naloxone (Narcan®) kit on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and again from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. From the period of Friday, June 29 – Sunday July 8, 2018, 16 Lake County residents reported to emergency rooms for drug overdose.
The monthly Project DAWN (Deaths Avoided With Naloxone) Clinic will be offered on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 4:30 p.m. This free clinic is available to anyone who is interested in obtaining the knowledge and skills to recognize an overdose and use naloxone.
