The Lake County General Health District will be offering several new locations within Lake County for its overdose prevention education clinics, also known as Project DAWN (Deaths Avoided With Naloxone). The Health District will offer recurring monthly clinics at the following locations:
- Signature Health, located at 38882 Mentor Avenue, Willoughby, Ohio 44094 on the first Wednesday of the month at 4:00 p.m.
- Crossroads Health (formerly known as Beacon Health), located at 9220 Mentor Avenue, Mentor, Ohio 44060 on the second Tuesday of the month at 4:30 p.m.
- Lake County General Health District, located at 5966 Heisley Rd, Mentor, Ohio 44060 on the third Thursday of the month at 12:30 p.m.
- Windsor Laurelwood Center for Behavioral Medicine, located at 35900 Euclid Avenue, Willoughby, Ohio, 44094 on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.
These clinics are available to any Ohio resident who is interested in obtaining the knowledge and skills to recognize an overdose and use Naloxone (NARCAN®). If eligible, you will receive a Naloxone (NARCAN) kit at no cost. The Surgeon General of the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps emphasizes the importance of the overdose-reversing drug Naloxone, as stated in his advisory on Naloxone and Opioid Overdose.
