Ohio Tobacco Quitline
The Tobacco Quitline is a free telephone support service that can help people who want to quit smoking or using tobacco. The Quitline can provide information and services including:
- Free support, advice, and counseling from experienced coaches
- A personalized quit plan
- Practical information on how to quit, including ways to cope with nicotine withdrawal
- The latest information about medications to help you stop smoking
- Free or discounted medications (available for at least some callers in most states)
- Referrals to other resources

Whether you smoke cigarettes, e-cigarettes, or use smokeless tobacco, the Tobacco Treatment Counseling offers individual behavioral counseling, medical supervision and numerous resources to assist in quitting, as well as remaining tobacco -free.
The program uses evidence-based care for tobacco dependence. They utilize a combination of behavioral counseling and medication which, when used together, have been shown to dramatically improve the chance of success. The Tobacco Treatment Counseling at UH helps make the decision to quit a lasting one.

Lake Geauga Recovery Services
Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers assist clients who are smoking or using
tobacco products in developing the necessary skills to stop. We increase the clients’ awareness of personal use patterns and behaviors, and assist them in developing an effective plans surrounding their goals, connect with additional resources and discuss the possibility of Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT).
Services are provided to adults who have a desire to stop or decrease their use of tobacco products.
Licensed therapists provide one on one sessions using a curriculum workbook to assist in balancing decisions, knowing triggers and patterns, creating a personalized quitting plan, coping with withdrawal, managing emotions, building healthy living skills, identifying sources of support and creating a relapse prevention plan.
Meets once weekly for an hour for about 8 weeks, can be adjusted based on individualized need and/or insurance eligibility. Can discuss options for NRT based on insurance coverage or ability to self-pay.
